Book 1: Betrothed and Exile

The Hidden Years: Betrothed and Exile is a two-part biblical historical fiction novel set during the untold decades surrounding the Nativity and the early years of Christ’s life.
Part 0ne, Betrothed, follows Joseph, a master carpenter of the House of David, from the Temple courts of Jerusalem to a small synagogue rising stone by stone in Nazareth.
Part Two, Exile, moves into Mary’s voice. She flees Bethlehem with knowledge that Herod’s soldiers are coming for her son, knowing she must protect him at all costs.
Book 2: Nazareth
Many voices. One story. A carpenter’s son, a student, a friend — and a mystery no one fully understood. Told by those who knew Him best.
What did Jesus learn before the world learned His name? Told through multiple intimate voices — Mary, Joseph, Joachim, John, Rebekah, and others — Nazareth follows Jesus from age three to twelve through the eyes of those who loved Him before the world knew His name. Currently in development at 52,000 words.
Book 3: Wilderness
He grew in wisdom and stature. His cousin grew in fire and proclamation. The world was not ready for either of them.
Scripture tells us little about the middle years of Jesus and John the Baptist. Wilderness traces their unrecorded years — John’s formation among the Essenes of Bethany, his later Nazarite vow, and Jesus moving through the same world differently, drawn to the poor, the sick, and the outcast. The book also answers what became of Joseph. It continues Mary’s story—her wisdom, her grief, and her steady hand in raising a family during an era of Roman occupation and political violence. That darkness is not background; it is the world into which a ministry of radical love was born.
